JOB TITLE: Patient Services Representative

We are seeking a Patient Service Representatives to work 32 hours each week in our Provo and American Fork clinics.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Greets, instructs, directs, schedules and gathers insurance information for patients and visitors. Serves as a liaison between patient and medical support staff. Work is performed in reception area. Involves frequent contact with patients. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of business office procedures. Excellent grammar, spelling and punctuation in order to accurately input patient information. Skill in operating a computer and photocopy machine. Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner. Ability to speak in a clear and concise manner. Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction. Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and the public. Prefer one year work experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
Check in patients, verifies and updates necessary information in the medical record.
Maintain appointments as requested and follow office scheduling policies.
Answer telephone, screens calls, takes messages and provides information.
Fax, copy and file patient charts as requested. Pulls next days charts and maintains daily reports for all medical charts.
Sort and deliver mail, medical records and other correspondence.
Screen visitors and respond to routine requests for information.
Maintain work area and lobby in a neat and orderly manner.
Attend monthly staff meetings.
Attend all other meetings as required.
Work with PMS and EMS Systems.
Maintain patient confidentiality.
Adhere to OSHA policies and procedures as they relate to the front office.
Adhere to all compliance and regulatory statutes as outlined by clinic policy.
Perform related work as required.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: High School Graduation or GED
The Research Coordinator is charged with protocol execution following good clinical practice guidelines. The Research Coordinator is also responsible for filing study related materials, supply ordering and weekly statistics completion.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Interact with, laboratory staff, clinic nursing staff, pharmacy, radiology, office staff and other departments within UCS and outside entities.
• Assure all study documentation is maintained and accurately completed in a timely fashion.
• Interact with study sponsors, principal investigators, and sub investigators.
• Participate in and facilitate monitoring visits and inspections/audits of the site by the sponsor and/or Federal regulators and has a basic understanding of regulatory processes.
• Recruit study subjects and assess for eligibility.
• Discuss study with subject and obtain informed consent; assure study visits and tests are done at appropriate time intervals.
• Comply with FDA regulations and GCP/ICH guidelines for conducting clinical trials.
• Patient Registration
• Data Compilation, Follow-Up and Maintenance
• Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Incumbent must be organized and pay close attention to detail, possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have sound medical terminology and have strong ability to operate a computer with high efficiency. Minimum of 2 years clinical research experience, Oncology preferred.
EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: High School or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in a health-related science field preferred.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: NIH “Human Research Protection” training expected within six weeks.
We are currently seeking a full time Medical Assistant for delivery of primary health care and patient care management. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Involves standing and walking. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds. Requires normal visual acuity and hearing. Requires exposure to bodily fluids. Knowledge of medical practice and the ability to assist in giving patient care. Knowledge of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment. Skill in maintaining records and recording test results. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly.
Certification from any Medical Assistant School or two years work experience required. AA/EOE
